This is a series of pictures made around East Vancouver. I aimed to capture the beauty in things we encounter in our daily lives, and specifically, random places and things that likely meant something to someone at some point. Every day there are houses that are being pulled down and new ones built. Who lived in those old places? How many lives went through them? What memories do they hold? The same goes with a notice of a cat missing or laundry hung out to dry: will they be there tomorrow, or in a few months’ time? Eventually the poster will be pasted over with another, more laundry will be hung. New memories will be made in new homes.

Life is fleeting and moments are fleeting, and with this project I am trying to capture the subtle, beautiful things that form our everyday landscape — but for the most part go unnoticed.
